I recently met with the Sheriff, the Chief and Commander Haines. I requested that a office be made available at the main office for PBA use. The office can be utilized for members to meet with their Reps prior to IAs or Discipline Boards and any other business that may arise. This will be like an acting "shop stewards" position. The hours will be established and posted for members that may need to speak with a representative as the need arises. There has been a PBA office at the main office in the past and it worked out well. The office will be open and manned by various members of the board. The Sheriff agreed and a office in the old EOC may be used. More on this to come.

As many of you may be aware a non member recently had a disciplinary incident. This employee discovered their financial responsibility in regardless to the aberration process, which requires that any non member post a $2,500.00 bond. This bond is to offset the aberration expense, and with a judgment against the employee this bond is lost. As you can see this is a potential pitfall for non membership. Please everyone make certain that you are aware of all facts prior to your decision on representation.

The next Board meeting and general membership meeting will be held on September 14th at 1900 HRS. If this changes I will advise, but look for the notice in the mail.

As always stay safe and I look forward to seeing each of you at the next Board/General membership meeting.

Sincerely,
Bain
